Sky is our only daughter by Castle Rock Mad About The Moon (we got many boys using his semen straws). She incorporates a large gene pool of Castle Rock Genetics in her pedigree. Her beautiful littermate brother Copper Moon was our favourite herd sire last breeding season.
As a first freshener Sky had only one kid, her daughter Tilly by Castle Rock Harvest Moon (AI). We only milked her for a short period Her first freshening udder stood out by being exceptionally soft skinned, well attached and it milked out very easily and completely through large , parallel teats with large orifices. We wish we had placed demand on her milk production but being a first freshener we just let her feed her only daughter Tilly. Tilly is now 6 month old and we are having trouble getting her away from moms free flowing milk supply…

Sky did not freshen this year which was entirely our fault and not hers! We thought so highly of her that we wanted to use imported semen (AI) with her, but the timing with our AI technician and travel time on and off the island never worked. Sky has the potential for a very nice, correct udder. She is relaxed, friendly and easy to work with. She has a rare dark copper coloured coat called in USA “Kingwood RED” after the early, very influential buck: Gay- Mor’s RA Kingwood, who had that kind of coat colour.
